一名律师指出，内政部长拿督斯里阿末扎希公然“请”沙巴进步党主席拿督杨德利“赏”他一巴掌的举动，已经足以构成刑事法典下“引人犯罪”的罪行。此外，悬赏要掴阿末扎希的杨德利，也一样可被治罪。

律师黄启斌说，刑事法典505条文（b）节，提到任何人若发表言论，及导致言论流传出去，有关言论将导致民众感到恐慌或紧张，及可能引人犯罪，有关人士可被判坐牢最高两年或罚款，或者两者兼施。

他说，如果有人出手者，则触犯刑事法典323条文，刑罚为坐牢最高一年或罚款两千令吉，或者两者兼施。

阿末扎希和杨德利之间爆发的“掌掴”挑战，也涉及阿末扎希献议支付501令吉给后者。

民主行动党居銮区国会议员刘镇东说，政治强调论述及辩论，不是暴力。

他说，一旦涉及暴力，后果是无法设想的，更何况冤冤相报何时了。
