马六甲野新果园佛庙睡佛被拆事件，是马华和国阵神权州政府执行的“民之不欲”决定。在事件发生时，望万区马华州议员钟谭安还毫无羞耻指责该庙为邪教。

8年前買地創建

廟主李先生說，他在8年前買下野新望萬14支大路旁側一段約1英畝半的果園，在園地內創建“果圓佛亭”暹廟，延請3位泰國高僧弘揚佛法，並進行慈善工作。

“在得到善信們的支持與贊助下，廟宇規模日漸擴充及美化，並在廟側開始興建一座長約60英尺，高約15英尺的金黃色‘大睡佛’。”
大睡佛的建築，是各地善信捐獻沙石洋灰及經費下逐步興建起來。目前，大睡佛的前半面已塑造成功並髹上金漆。“如果這座大睡佛建竣，將是次於吉蘭丹道北大睡佛的全馬第二大睡佛，為馬六甲野新帶來一個新的旅遊景點。”

马六甲神权州政府以强蛮的手段拆除佛庙，破坏各宗教背景和平共处的协议，最主要的原因国阵神权政府与民联议席之间势力悬殊。— 在 Melaka, Malaysia
