對香港人來說，拋棄幻想的意思，就是不要再寄望中共會給香港真正的「港人治港，高度自治」，不必去研究去分析中共領導人怎麼說，也不要管那些傀儡喉舌怎麼解釋，更不須去迎合他們的甚麼「愛國愛港」要求。在中共字典中，「愛國」的標準是變幻的，文革時你否定文革是不愛國，文革後你肯定文革就變得不愛國了。香港回歸時，你否定香港「高度自治」是不愛國，誰知道甚麼時候會突然變成肯定「高度自治」是不愛國呢？
因此香港人應該奮起，拋棄幻想，以各種方式爭取《中英聯合聲明》和《基本法》所定的「港人治港，高度自治」的落實。
