距离505投票日5天，行动党国会领袖林吉祥宣布，以独立人士上阵霹雳後廊州席的原任该区议员姚天和退选，并以大局为重。

这是火箭第3位退选的原任议员。目前仅剩雪兰莪莲花苑原任州议员李映霞坚持上阵，党中央指责她涉嫌舞弊，她反驳所有指控。

早前原任马六甲国会议员沈同钦在林吉祥斡旋下，于4月22日退出以独立人士上阵的哥打拉沙马那州席，而柔佛原任明吉摩州议员黄南华也在同一天退选明吉摩州席，避开自相残杀的三角战。
