Sarawak is planning to realize 11 dams by 2020. These dams would flood over 2,300 km2 of tropical rainforests and native lands. This corresponds to one and a half times the area of Greater London. They would directly and indirectly affect at least 235 indigenous settlements with an estimated population of between 30’000 and 50’000 people.

Baram Dam is one of the 11 dams, would flood over 400km2 of tropical rainforests and 26 indigenous villages. The Baram Dam will displace up to 20000 indigenous people. The affected community is decided fight to against this mega dams plan. They are willing to defend their livelihood and their culture at all cost.
