陳雲：看了彭定康總督的老態，心中痛苦。當年，他不能出任英國要職，來了香港，香港成了他政治的救贖之地。他也在香港盡了他最大的心力。他回到英國之後，大勢已去，時不我予，當了外邦人的香港總督，頂撞英國，政治忠誠存疑，是不能回去祖國當高官的。彭定康此後只能擔任榮譽職位，職位一個比一個低，一個比一個令他難堪，鬱鬱終老。你要是眷念彭定康他老人家，請好好讀他為香港寫的書，繼承他的政治智慧。他將經營英國的才華放在小小的香港。他在East and West有一句話：Watch out for the barbarians over the border. 當心邊界後面的野蠻人。大家曉得否？
